Candice M. Woods

Candice, a native Texan, at age 6 began her classical ballet and dance training at Ballet of Dallas, in North Dallas. She continued her training at Chamberlain School of Performing Arts; quickly moving through the ranks to join the Senior Ballet Company at age 13. Candice enjoyed performing in various roles at Chamberlain but one of her favorite pieces to perform was "Troubled Spaces in Between" choreographed by Jamal Story.  She has also trained at The School of American Ballet in New York, NY.  Candice began her professional performing career, in 2005, when midway through her senior year of high school she was cast as a Dynamite in the Broadway production of Hairspray. Her other Broadway credits include Catch Me If You Can, Nice Work If You Can Get It, The Book of Mormon, and Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of the Temptations. Off Broadway credits; Smokey Joe’s Café. Her national tours include Dirty Dancing: The Classic Story on Stage, Legally Blonde The Musical, and the Work light Production/OD Company Korean Tour of Dreamgirls.  In 2017, she received the Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award: Performance by a Featured Actress, for her performance as Diana Ross in Ain't Too Proud: The Life and Times of the Temptations. Candice has performed in the televised productions of the Tony Awards, the 2020 Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting, and the 44th Annual Kennedy Center Honors tribute to Berry Gordy. Candice is a member of Actors Equity Association.
